STUDENT WORK, Student Work—Aesthetics
It is an important exercise in starting to see the world in a new way — in graphic terms.
Students reviewed the concepts of graphic delineation, simplification and abstraction through examples of the
concepts in use, live demonstrations, and class discussion. A prerequisite for the course is Foundations Drawing
so a basic understanding of light and shadow is assumed. Objects selected for this treatment were broken
into simple shapes. The ramps of value were presented as lines instead continuous tones. It is an important exercise
in starting to see the world in graphic terms.
